Kad es nomizojos (2021)
Kad es nomizojos (When I Peel Off) is a collaboration between singer Beāte Zviedre and bassist Jānis Rubiks. In this colorful and eclectic work, Latvian poetry is married to the music composed by Jānis Rubiks. The main musical streams on this album are those which Beāte and Jānis have grown out as musicians – jazz, chamber music, musicals , rock, improvisation, world music. Poems that carry the central message of this album are works of Latvian poets Iveta Šimkus, Ilmārs Šlāpins, Imants Ziedonis, Aspazija, Rainis un Madara Gruntmane. Two songs feature lyrics written by Beāte Zviedre herself.
